Celebrating the season

  A good—nay, great—time was had by all during our annual Holiday Benefit and Party. We loved taking a pause out of our busy schedules to mingle with our clients, who sipped on kir royales, munched on some sinfully good cheese, and snapped up armfuls of their favorite products, booked services, and purchased gift certificates during the evening. The energy was high as we drew tickets for gift baskets of our favorite products. And the MarQueen Hotel joined in the festivities, donating two gift certificates for the drawing. They opened up a conference room and guest room just down the hall, and offered hors d'oeuvres to our guests (we were partial to the stuffed dates on endive). 

Thanks to you, we filled three large boxes with food items for Northwest Harvest. We hope our event helped set you on a path of good cheer for the rest of the month. We know we're still buoyed up after spending time with all of you, perhaps the best gift of all.

Under the (Memorial Day) Weather

The Memorial Day weekend weather may not be the stuff of which summer dreams are made, but you can perk up your mood with a little pampering. When there’s a chill in the air, grab some Kniepp bath products in our spa boutique and head to the tub. If allergies are getting you down, soak in a Eucalyptus Herbal Bath. If the grey weather is making you sleepy, pop a Rosemary or Spruce Sparkling Bath Tablet into the bath and awaken your body and mind.

If you do happen to hike up Mount Si or bike the Burke-Gilman, soothe tired legs with Arnica Intensive Cream, Arnica Active Gel, and Arnica Warming Massage Oil. Arnica has been used for centuries for sprains, bruises, and wounds. While you may not be recovering from road rash or surgery, arnica can help reduce inflammation and speed the healing process.

Gold-medal Skincare

Knee-deep into the Winter Olympics and with the Academy Awards looming, we thought Jill should weigh in on skin-care considerations: 

• If you are in very cold conditions, your skin needs extra protection. You wouldn’t go out in sub-zero weather without the proper gear and clothing. Your skin needs the same consideration. In addition to a great moisturizer, look for a good sunscreen with a high SPF (Jill loves Ombrelle), particularly if you are in high altitudes. And everyone should be taking fish oils to lubricate their skin from the inside out. 
  

• For a big upcoming event, start a skin-care regimen about three months in advance if you haven't already been taking care of your skin properly. In addition to at-home care, schedule a treatment (we start with a Classic French Facial so we can get an understanding of your individual skin needs and make a treatment plan) every two to three weeks until the skin responds, then once a month until the event. Of course, once the occasion has passed, keep your skin radiant through regular treatments and great skincare.

Oh what a night!!!

We want to thank everyone who came and enjoyed the festivities at our Holiday party.  We especially appreciate all your food donations to Northwest Harvest.  Thanks to your generosity, we filled up two very large container boxes.

The evening reminded all of us of how many wonderful clients we have, clients who have become our friends.  And for that we feel blessed.
